If you suffer from sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin texture and complexion, mild to moderate acne, or large pores, a chemical peel may be able to help you get your skin under control. Chemical peels are specifically formulated to address particular skin concerns, and they can vary in strength from a light peel with no downtime to a deep peel that may require a few days off work.
If you are interested in better skin, contact Mosharrafa Plastic Surgery today at 602-513-8133 to schedule your consultation. We will help you find the best treatment plan to address your concerns and get you on the path to glowing, beautiful skin.
Types of Chemical Peels
We offer a variety of peels from Skin Medica, a medical grade skin care company with a proven track record of effective products and treatments for in-office and at-home use. Our peel strengths range from superficial to deep. Which one is right for you will depend on your skin concerns, lifestyle, and tolerance for recovery time.
The three chemical peels that we offer include:
- Illumize
- Rejuvenize
- Vitalize
These peels target a range of concerns, from complexion brightening to dark spot and wrinkle reduction. Your aesthetician will examine your skin and listen to your concerns, explain each peel and its recovery time, and help you choose the best one.
Is A Chemical Peel Right For You?
One benefit of chemical peels is that they generally require little to no downtime. They can also be an alternative to fractional laser resurfacing, and can be customized for your skin concerns.
Chemical peels can also be a great in combination with other procedures. They’re very popular in conjunction with BOTOX®, dermal fillers, and non-surgical skin tightening treatments in order to achieve comprehensive results without surgery.
Chemical peels can also be used after a facelift or other facial plastic surgery in order to create smooth, bright, youthful skin to go along with your new look.
You may not be a candidate for a chemical peel if you are prone to highly pigmented scarring or if you are on medications that make your skin sensitive. You should avoid retinol for a few days before a chemical peel, as well. If your skin is very dark, discuss whether or not a peel is appropriate for you with your aesthetician. Some lighter chemical peels can be used with no problem on dark skin, but some deeper peels may pose a risk of discoloration.
